It is a Rolex ref 6480, 338,xxx serial from c.1958 with original guarantee paper (sale dated 16 March 1961). The dial is a rare quadrant, chevron pattern, explorer 3,6,9 and it has the most wonderful, warm, golden amber patina that is very even across the whole dial. Manual wind, with (what I believe to be) the original domed crystal and 34mm case and rivet bracelet. The rivet bracelet has had one link added by me as it was too short when I received the watch. It will now fit most people unless they have huge wrists. I will also throw in a barely worn vintage stlye strap from Bulang and Sons and a fitted but never worn dark brown Horween Shell Cordovan strap from GLC straps Italy. Id like £2650 including delivery in the UK for this lovely little watch. Overseas buyers, shipping will have to be discussed. Tradewise I am only really interested in a 1960/70s Datejust 1603 with a grey or silver dial. Thanks
That is probably the only Rolex that truly tempts me. If I wasn't tapped out on watch buying funds I would be all over that. GLWS and I envy the new owner.
