A unique Zenith El Primero Pilot Diver, model 01.0200.415. This one has a transparent back to see the El Primero Movement. It’s from about 1975, http://forums.watchuseek.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=512364&d=1315835026, from http://forums.watchuseek.com/f27/ov...tainless-steel-models-1969-1975-a-586997.html shows that it is 1 of 50 ever made. This watch is a statement watch. It’s big and chunky. It’s 44mm. Includes the lobster braclet. As you can see there are signs of use on the dial. I do not know the service history, but it works fine and everything resets correctly. Asking price is US $4500 OBRO.
This is a great watch, and not very common. I have the Movado version. A commanding presence on the wrist and one of the coolest bracelets ever. GLWS.
Nice watch! Can I ask a question that is in no way a comment about the watch? How is this watch called a Diver? My understanding was the name was "Pilot" from Zenith and it was to compete with the Navitimer. Its clearly not a diver except for the bezel that is bi-directional a no no in dive watches and the screw down crown present in non dive watches at that time? Does it have a listed water resistence on it? The count up bezel would be a useful tool for a pilot allowing for dual timing abilities on a watch. Or is this just one of those things like the Steve McQueen Rolex, it got the name and it just stuck for little to no apparent reason?
I don't know the answer to your question. I think the diver is because the bezel turns around. It's in this forum post that I use as authoritative for El Primeros: http://forums.watchuseek.com/f27/ov...tainless-steel-models-1969-1975-a-586997.html
