Unforeseen medical expenses lead me to put up for sale my rather newly acquired LEONIDAS BUND. I purchased it earlier this year from a well-established German seller who has something of a specialty in BUND watches (Heuer and Leonidas). I have worn it not at all and it is in exactly the same condition as when I acquired it.

The watch comes with the green NATO strap shown as well as the EULIT 3-piece Black Strap with nsn-no.

I am asking $6000 shipped worldwide. Payment by wire preferred.
Buyer will have a 48 hour inspection period during which the watch can be returned to me for any reason – at buyer’s expense. After 48 hours the sale is final. Of course, the returned watch must be in the same condition as when received by the buyer.

Please contact me by PM. Thanks.

Following is the text of the German seller’s sales ad:

    “Cal.222 nsn - no 6645-12-146-3774

These watches never had a serial-no. nor 1550SG between the lugs

only 255 built in 1967 and only approx. 150 still existing.

The watch is described by KONRAD KNIRIM on page 574

The watch is perfectly working everything functions as it should
including fly back and second-stop etc.

As the watch is 50 years old and was used by BUNDESWEHR-Pilots for many years,
plenty of service went into the watch.
From what I can see the hands, crystal, bezel and dial where renewed during that period of time.
That I think is quite normal for a watch of this age.
My friend who worked for many years as a watchmaker for the BUNDESWEHR
confirmed this and the originality of the watch.

The dial was something special when it was supplied to the BUNDESWEHR:
it was oiled between the crystal, gasket, dial and case to get it waterproof.
But that did not work as the oil destroyed the dial.
So almost every watch had to receive an original-spare part new dial over the years.
Some destroyed oiled-dials can be seen on the internet.”
