FINE AND ELEGANT GENTLEMAN'S SWISS CHRONOGRAPH - CERTINA DS PODIUM 7750 MOVEMENT BOX & PAPERS BOUGHT NEW JUNE 2017 Model 1888 DS PODIUM Diameter 42mm, with crown 47mm, lug to lug 49.6mm Condition is excellent The big "post-retirement" downsize continues and is drawing towards a close. I shall be sorry to see this lovely Certina go having bought it new in June 2017, importing it to GB. I was - and remain - captivated by the wonderful clarity of the dial layout with the three subdials defined by silver circumferences and with concentric circle patterning in subtle but clear contrast to the matt finish of the dial. There are lume dots at every hour and the main hour and minute hands have wonderfully clear lume panels, the hands themselves being in a bright highly polished finish. The bright bezel bears a nicely contrasting tachymeter scale, the lugs and case sides are brush finished and the glorious exhibition back is mirror polished and signed. The crown and both pushers have a polished black finish on the ends, the main crown being signed DS. The polished clasp is signed CERTINA. The excellent quality leather strap suits the watch very nicely but is not signed and so may not be a Certina product. The watch sets, adjusts and runs perfectly, the day (English language) and date flip over correctly. The chrono starts, runs, stops and resets correctly. The watch comes with Certina box and papers. Condition? I cannot find any blemishes to the crystal front and back, to the case or to the signed clasp. It is 101% a gem of Swiss watch making. All in all this is an excellent 7750 chrono from a highly regarded Swiss manufacturer in first class mechanical and cosmetic condition. Whether you simply like good-looking watches or whether you have a need for a chrono with superb clarity this is the one for you.
