So just finished reading (perusing more to the point), the new Omega book ‘From Seamaster to Seamaster’ It was a great perspective from an artist/photographer point of view of various landmark and some unusual cool suspects, with the slight deconstructions peppered in for good measure. Obviously not the reference standard I expected or was hoping for but certainly a great coffee table book to spark up or educate in conversation. I did find a few familiar friends, some of who, passed through my lucky hands. And then one,my wife’s grandpa’s Seamaster, that was a daily wearer for 33 years, popped up. Cool cal 751 first day/date chronometer rated Seamaster, that is still my most accurate watch that I’ve had the pleasure of owning. So to the floor....any other thoughts or input on the new Seamaster book and any of the watches within.
I picked up a copy today, it certainly is a big book, full of history, I had no idea there was so many different Seamasters.
The Seamaster range is probably the most diverse range that Omega have ever produced, truly something for everyone - I cancelled my order for this book as it wasn't what I wanted & wasn't overly impressed with the photographic examples I'd seen. Paul
I mean the book, i ordered it by Amazon. Now i know what i need, the OMEGA Book "a journey through time"
thx Paul, i found the german Version (thats there i come from) and it´s 350€. Do you think it´s worth it ?
just flipped through the book - really disappointing from my perspective. There are some nice and certainly high-quality pictures but there is NO information at all... NO information about reference nos, movements, complications, other features. Definitely not more than a coffee table book. I am gonna return it. Its not worth the money. I was expecting so much more. Its ok if you get it as a gift from the OB but its a waste of money for EUR 88.
