Thanks for this - it's magic. Much as I enjoy a recent/current AMG V8 for that distinctive exhaust bark, this V12 is really musical and quite intoxicating - wish someone would make this system available for my Lupo Gti! This sort of thing is an antidote to electric cars/hybrids and all such oncoming stuff, and we have to make the most of it while we can.
There is one of those V10s that lives round my way, debadged and in a very un-Audi old man light metallic green. It looks like a total sleeper, except the 4 pipes that pop out the back And then it starts....
Yeah that's the thing, it is very unassuming until you hear that motor. I mean it looks just like a regular old A6.
I don't fully understand my own aesthetic logic, but I found these goldies more difficult to adjust to. The bright yellows are in keeping with the 'toy' look that we're seeing more and more on some contemporary Porsches, and, to my surprise I've come to like it - after all, in terms of price and performance, some models are now not of the 'real world;' (just wish I could afford one!)
I came across this. One of my friends had a Lexus IS that had a corvette engine swapped in. You could hear it coming a mile away but it looked like a daily driver. This Porsche reminded me of it.
In the 90s my wife and I went to the Meadowbrook Concours d’elegance every year in August. Here is a 1995 pic of Ralph Lauren’s 1930 SSK. 35 mm cameras were less forgiving than today’s technology. I probably have a better pic somewhere.
I have no idea what is a RSPCP and google doesn't seem to know either. But I fully agree this is a sacrilege... and the sad bit is, it seems a "rather" common swap on the western side of the atlantic... How about we bring this back to where it should be and all unite to buy this beauty instead? https://jalopnik.com/please-buy-f1-driver-kevin-magnussens-porsche-911-turbo-1839991327
