I don't mind having a Speedy with a sapphire to be honest (I do believe that this one and my Silver Snoopy Award are the only ones that have one in my collection), but I prefer the standard Moonwatch with Hesalite.
Article mentions "domed sapphire crystal" - this is the same sapphire on any other Speed Pro with sapphire, yes?
So your photographer does not: Adjust the curve of the exposure, to maximise, the tonal range ? Sharpen the image, to reduce the effect of the ‘anti-alias’ filter ? Clone out dropped pixels, or dust ? Colour balance the temperature of the light ? Interesting technique…
