Sorry if I fall with the door into the room since I'm a new member but I have some pressing issue here.
I am a proud owner of a 105.012 (65/66 - that is the question) Speedmaster.
I was under the impression that I own a -66 with a HF case. I must admit I was a bit wondering about the case as it looked suspiciously like a CB case but on the case back it says HF and 105.012-66.
    Pushers and crown correct.
Now what I missed for over a year was that the serial number falls into the -65 range.
Since it is a CB case it is clearly a Franken watch or is it?

What would be a the value of such a watch now?
I have the original bracelet as well.

Thank you very much for your answers.

Hello and welcome, you have a very nice looking speedy!! Can you post photos of the inner and outer caseback? As far as the serial number is concerned, why are you so convinced that it should be a 65 instead of a 66? I suppose it's possible that someone could have swapped out just the caseback at some point, but it seems unlikely.

Thank you very much for your reply and for your welcome.
Yes, I love this watch and I think it is very beautiful.
Well, the serial number is 240xxxxx. This would put it into the -65 range. At least to the information I have.
Now the case is a CB case which would be not possible on the -65, or am I wrong here?
The case back says HF and 105.012-66 altough the second 6 looks a bit odd but I have seen that before on other watches.

Well the 105.012-66 can come with either the HF or CB case but the serial numbers generally start with 2453xxxx or later. I've seen the odd last digit before as well so I think that's ok. I don't personally own a CB case so perhaps someone who does can comment further for you. Do you have any papers for the watch? Extract from Omega or warranty booklet to help with the history of the watch.

    Thanks again.
Yes that is what I am wondering about. The CB case was only available on the -66, right?
So my nice 321 movement was robbed from a -65 and placed in a -66 with a CB case. But then the wrong case back was mounted.

Unfortunately I have no papers or anything else for that matter.

You may want to order an Extract from Omega, that will tell you exactly when this movement number was produced and what reference it was originally intended for.

I think you are right to be concerned for this watches originality.
I have not seen a -66 with a 240x xxxx serial, only as you say, -65.
The case back on this watch is clearly a -66HF.
The caseband shows clear facet junctions on at least two of the lugs. The case also looks more like a CB case in shape. ( I am still working on comparing those two but I am not with watches at the moment).
I am not sure the hands on this watch have spent all their lives together.
The dial and bezel look very nice indeed.
Case shows signs of salesman type polish and it looks like a new crystal.

I have had words with an older watchmaker who worked on speedmasters in the 1970's. He said he would often mix up cases/ case backs as he serviced speedmasters in batches. I must say I didn't like his attitude, but I was buying some parts off him.

However this watch has a non matching case back and case band, as well as a movement number in a range not yet confirmed as possible for any -66, be it HF or CB.

If I was offered this watch, I would try to buy it because the dial and bezel are so good, however I would not value it as an original watch.

That said, the dial and the bezel are really good....

While it will tell you the reference, it won't tell you the year stamp.

I was thinking more along the lines of Speedmaster vs Seamaster.

I was hoping to get some opinions here first before I ask for the extract from Omega.
Maybe I am missing something here.

Spacefruit, sorry I missed your reply.
Thanks very much for your detailed answer.
What makes you think that the crystal was replaced? Does it look to new?

I like the watch very much indeed and I wear it a lot. But what unsettles me is that it was sold to me as completely original and correct.

It's a nice looking watch but definitely not completely original!

Crystal does look very new and appears to have the newer type logo.

Ok. Now I got the results from the

Now I have the results from the extract from Omega.
The movement is from a 105.003 from 1965.
So now here we have it.

My question now is what can I do about it? The shop which sold it to me sold it as completely original.

I don't want to give the watch back as I like it very much and because it's a beautiful speedy.
But I paid 75.000 hkd which is equal to €8600 or $9600 which is clearly to much for it.
How would you value this watch?

    What can I do now?

    Thank you very much!
