I FN love this piece that @Spacefruit posted recently.
Are any other OF members doing this/into this kind of outstanding work? Do show/share, if you dare. 2017-02-22 10.53.43.png

Only to inexpensive Seiko divers... Diver_073116 3269.jpg
Swapped the movement to a MH36 and the bezel from another cheap diver:

I'm planning something similar with a silver dial I picked on eBay. Next step is some suitable hands.

Well, Gents. Thank you both for your participation in my first post at OF. Have to say it's not exactly on fire, is it? But this idea of 'rodding watches does interest me. A great area for creativity; mashing handsets, bezels, dials, etc. I'm guessing the parts are out there. I've always quite liked the look of these Blancpain homages, powered I think by Seikos? Like, or no? (Not my pic or watch, btw.) Screenshot 2017-02-23 13.21.17.png

I think maybe the thread title doesn't truly explain the content. I like Foo2rama's 'hot rod' term better, most Franken watches are frowned upon as they are thrown together from incorrect parts, with the aim of fooling uneducated buyers. My watch will be customised much like speedmaster owners have done with changing dial/hands to the mitsukoshi version. If I sell the watch I would describe the alterations and state the original model. I'm sure there are plenty of members who have modified watches, hopefully they will chime in soon with pics, opinions, and potential projects.

I actually prefer the original of the Seiko you posted, I think it could be a future classic.
