Somewhere (TM) I have Eric Newby's books The Last Grain Race and Learning the Ropes his largely text and then pictorial accounts of crewing in a similar ship Europe to Australia and back. Highly recommended.

Also, I encourage anyone visiting New England to visit the Mystic Seaport who produced this video. My parents grew up in that Mystic and I went to the Seaport a lot growing up on school trips and family outings. I took my wife there on a trip to Connecticut when we were first dating, and I found I enjoyed it as much at 35 as I did in my youth, if not more.
