I walked by a local consignment shop today and found an Omega Constellation in the window. It needs some polishing but the guy said he would sell it to me for $630. here is a pic of it....thoughts? he does not have the original box to it. There are some warranty cards with it but im not sure that it matches up with the watch. Let me know what you think and is that a fair price?

I don't see $630 there, not a lot of us own these style of Constellation so its hard to make a call on originality, as I honestly don't know but there are better Omegas available for $630

I call suspect. How can it be a "perpetual calendar" if it only shows the date?

It's a very nice quartz watch, not highly collectable among mechanical fishinado's though.

From about 1997, Calibre 1680, calendar programmed to 2100 (see AJTT, pp 390).

Price may be a bit high for a stainless battery watch but it is genuine and the buy is up to you.

Not such a great deal on a battery powered computer chip.

Nothing to worry about - that's the way some of these quartz calendars were.

Easy, because it doesn't need correction on months ending on 30 or even 28 or 29. :) I guess you mean a full calendar, with day, date and month indication. Some perpetual calendars (like Patek's) have a full calendar 'included', but just 'perpetual calendar' doesn't mean by default that it comes with all the day, date, month, year apertures :) Same for annual calendar watches btw.

I like this watch though, even though it is quartz driven. It has a thermo-compensated movement and - indeed - a perpetual calendar. For 630 USD it is just a good watch. They were much more expensive when new (introduced in 1995 if I am not mistaken). However, 630 USD can perhaps also buy you a vintage mechanical Omega watch. To each his own.

See for $630 you could get a Calibre 5xx series Seamaster calendar in good shape and serviced, which is probably why a lot will resist the quartz connie

    I stand corrected.
