i was picking up a resized ring for my wife today and the chap in the shop showed me this 18k Omega dress watch. I got some quick pics. Apologies for the movement shot. Was in a hurry and double parked!
What do forum members think of it and possible value. The dial would appear to have been redialled rather badly. I can’t trace model reference, movement or age. E0731F12-BED9-47E9-B558-3DC60D1B1E28.jpeg D67A4A89-7F4C-4F02-BD70-8145BDB6A040.jpeg

Besides the obvious, wouldn't a 14311 be automatic?

Value is probably close to gold scrap + some for the movement.

You will find very few, if any, bargains in NYC jewelry stores. They don't give their stuff away. This one is surely a pass.

Message clear. He had a couple of others. Any good or equally dodgy? I know nothing about these models. They seemed superficially attractive. 18k cases. Manual wind. Interesting lugs! B55B85DC-C267-4E89-9DD1-7C117B66B2BA.jpeg 7E8F1BE8-2E96-4629-A731-DD7CBE4E653E.jpeg

Might appeal to some on here.

I'm sorry but they are all in bad shape or redials. If you expect to make a good deal at a jeweller in NY, you are maybe a bit dreaming.

Better that you skip it, because the re-dial is very low quality!!

Basing on my little but consistant experience, I agree: not the best city (NY) to make good vintage deals!

Too many shops in nyc offer redialed or not originally pieces and if they are, usually overpriced by quite a bit

Agreed. This is the same tiny little repair place that I bought my original untouched 1969 DON Speedmaster 4 years ago for 2k so I keep hoping lightning will strike twice!

Both the JLC and IWC look to be original dials. Neither are in particularly good shape.

At that point, it’s all about the price.

On the JLC, the minute marks do not align with the markers or numbers. Is that normal?
