I posted this in the WTB forum, but figured I'd get more action here. Hoping it's ok. . .

My cousin's wife called me today, and wants to buy my cousin a birth year watch for their 20th anniversary - to be celebrated Wednesday. The budget is $1000-$1500. Solid gold preferred (SS and gold cap/fill also acceptable), and something from one of the Swiss manufacturers (Omega will be the likely get here, but I'm open to alternatives). The budget could be expanded slightly for something really special. Recent service history is a plus of course, but not necessary. Please email me at [email protected] rather than pm. Thanks!

Jeff

Hey Jeff, good to see you! I wish I could help, but I don't have anything 1960 at the moment. Good luck!

Hey Jeff. I'll take a look to see what I have available from 1960 and shoot you an e-mail or a text later tonight.

That looks nice! Still have it Dennis?!?!
I'd imagine so, he's usually pretty good with marking items sold if they're gone. Maybe shoot a PM

I know right, the odds that a 1960 solid 18K Seamaster with a recent service in nice shape being available on short notice and in budget are pretty long but there you go lol

I don't think the odds are that long - but the odds of a seller and buyer who know each other for a few years that have done transactions before having a perfect item at the right time are a little longer. Must be the Watch Gods smiling on each of us.

Sometimes, yes. Then there are other times when I curse them because I'm convinced they're plotting my financial ruin. 😜

I'm feeling that at the moment to be honest. It seems to go away relatively soon though and I find I'm left with something new in 'The Box' 😀

Just one new toy would be a great pace, but it seems that watches come in waves. A couple years ago I scored 6 pieces in a week during early April - 1 on my most wanted list and 5 were targets of opportunity from brands I seek. However, 2011 will go down as my career year. Snagged some incredible finds.
