    Hi 10:10,
Agree with you, some potential answers: probably the number of Compax being produced vs speedmasters, along with the 60's style beauty of the watch itself, plus the Valjoux heart that was shared with early Daytos, and last but not least the Nina's myth.

The point with speedmasters is that their appearance nearly did not change since the beginning, whereas Daytos Compax etc changed and some prefer the initial style. Same goes for other watches like Breitling AVIs / copilot.

I notice the sub dial hands on this one are thin sticks. Most of the Nina's I've seen have had thicker sub dial hands. Does anyone know the difference? Are both original to the watch?

Both original, the thin hands are the earliest...here is mine which also has the earlier cal 130 (Valjoux 72.6) movement.

I did some research on the stick and thick hands subject.

Contrary to belief, they are both original on the ninas and space compax references. However, it does seem that very early models (pre 64) are marketed with thin register hands. Very early 70's compax references also appeared with thin hands. It may have something to do with stock running short in the run up to the chinese takeover but interestingly, the bulova moon watch that is closely related to the space compax also has stick hands.

The above does not apply to tri compax moon references.

Thick hands and thin hands catalogue examples (note: space compax 2 exec 1st gen with stick hands).
