Did some serious deep searching on Google and found this lovely tropical Nina Rindt Panda Compax in a small vintage / pawn shop in Kobe, Japan. Spent a week working out a way to communicate with the shop owner, who didn't speak very good English, and finally, today, got my hands on this killer Compax. Now I've got two! This, and the blue Compax!
Sweet, sweet, sweet watch. I'm not sure I've seen it with the black hands before, but they give it a very modern cast. The dial and bezel look impeccable. I missed this listing altogether - congrats on the deep digging.
LouS, Dablitzer Thanks! I've seen it both ways, with black hands and steel hands. Looks like the Nina Rindt with the applied logo got steel hands and the blued chrono sweep hand, and the one without the applied logo got all black hands. They're could be service hands too, as they have a luminova greenish cast to them and still glow a little. Now I've got this AND the blue. Bill
PS, the fading of the text on the white dial is due to post-processing on my phone, I was trying to selectively color balance. It's much clearer in person.
Bill, I am a huge Breitling Top Time 810 fan and the Nina is a close match to these watches. I have been searching for a Nina for a long time now with no luck and am always thrilled to see when someone finds one. I am hoping one day my luck gets like yours and I too find that perfect Nina. Wayne
Congratulations on illustrating the Merritt of focus vs casual grazing. Question assume this was a civilized price or was the shop looking for feeding frenzy prices!?
I'll throw something present into this really old, old thread... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UNIVERSAL...016286?hash=item2a79054a5e:g:W7cAAOSwEjFXe8HWPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
