Edit 2:
New bracelet came today, it feels just how it’s supposed to. Forstner was very helpful along the way, they also threw in some extra goodies, for which i can’t thank them enough! I’m really pleased with the whole process, the support is absolutely superb! If you are in similar situation, send an email to Forstner, they will take care of you in the best possible way.

Edit:
Well, I’m still a bit shocked to say the least. I am yet to find another company with such high standards. Thankfully i was lead to believe that the bracelet i received, simply slipped under qc’s radar and it isn’t something that happens regularly. New bracelet is already on its way and to Forstner, my apologies for being a difficult client and thank you once again, chapeau bas!

Hello everybody,
I'd like to share with you my experience with @Forstnerbands flat link bracelet i got over christmas. Overall I've tried my best to love this bracelet, it looks stunning, wears quite comfortably with planty of adjustment and help of stretchy links. I'm not the biggest fan of the end links (their profile is odd at best, although they look ok) and the 18mm bracelet looks quite bad on a watch with 20mm lug width. However its biggest offense is its build quality, frankly It's unforgivable. First thing i noticed were the massive gaps between polished and brushed parts of the links, other than bad qc (or rather lack there off) i suspect that it may be the way Forstner tried to achieve the vintage rattle, if thats the case, than it is an odd choice but i guess i could let it slide. The thing that pissed me off the most, was when i noticed that links are asymmetric. It's hard to catch it on camera, i tried my best to show it with calipers. However in person you can clearly see that the left polished part is clearly narrower than the right one. I don't know how it came to be, but frankly I am utterly disappointed. Things like this, shouldn't have place at this price point. I was thinking of getting the newly released milled clasp for this bracelet, but after noticing all the defects i'm not sure wether i'm going to get anything else from Forstner bands. Im sad, especially after reading all the positive reviews and having high hopes for this bracelet.
Sincerely
vct4

Ps. Of course your milage may vary, i hope it’s just one of. I've included photos of the things that triggered me the most below. Also please ignore any shortcomings in my language, as i'm not a native english speaker.

Sorry you are disappointed by the bracelet, the gaps I can see and I wouldn’t be happy with those either. Have you contacted them about an exchange for another? I can only assume this one slipped past QC which happens to the best of them.
I have 4 Forstner bracelets (not the flatlink though- I have 2 of the Uncle Seiko and am very happy with them) and like all of them.
I would give them an opportunity to make good on this.

I was so excited that i started wearing it immediately after getting it, sadly ive noticed those things after giving it some marks of use, so i don’t think it would qualify for an exchange. 🙁

Yes, please shoot us a message. We do our best to weed out bracelets that have defects but some can slip through the QC process (looks like this is one of them). Our warranty covers this sort of thing, so we'd be happy to send a replacement.

Well, they just let you know- you can indeed send it back.
Shit happens, how a company responds after that is a mark of their quality as a brand. Glad to see Forstner is willing to take this one back

I'll be sure to post an update how it unfolds, I'm hoping for the best though!

This is how one would expect a brand to react, sending it back and receiving another in its stead. Good to see they've chimed in on this thread. Let us know how it goes! 👍

Just a message to Forstner would have been enough to solve your QC issue.
Agree. Seems odd for someone who joined a week ago to post a thread about their "nightmare" without even contacting the company first

its unfortunate that you didn't contact them and at least give forstner a chance to put things right before maligning their good name. Maybe I'm just old fashioned in thinking this would have been the more decent approach.

Dear gents, i did contact them on instagram albeit i wasn’t as direct with the message that i wanted to carry. Mea Culpa. Only when i saw crooked links, i felt that that was enough and under the influence of emotions i wrote this post. With the benefit of the hindsight, yes i should have written a direct inquiry and my apologies to Forstner for not doing so.

I’ve exchanged a few messages with them and so far they’ve been very helpful and took care of the situation the best way they possibly could, thanks again.

I hope this clears things up a bit.

Ps. Yes I did join last week. As far as i know, you can’t search for threads that could help your case, without having an account 😉

I agree to a point, but threads like this do help the community stay informed that there are some QC issues occasionally and Forstner was quick to respond and did so with class.

I can attest that Forstner is a First Class company with fantastic service. I recieved my Flat link band yesterday and apparently ordered the fully brushed instead of the Polished/Brushed that I wanted. One email this morning to them and within a couple hours they have already sent the new one out. They also sent me a return label for the one going back. I'll definitely be buying more bands from them to fit my ever growing Speedmaster collection.
If your reading this Forstner, I really appreciate your help and thank you for the excellent service.
