Ok you WISs. Not everyone here hates quartz. Post up and show your love.
    I'll start.

Still love that GSG9. I was under the influence one evening and gave it to my non watch interested brother. So - I still get to see it... Which hurts...

This is very true - but I think the general view is, that if there are two versions of the same watch, one quartz, and one mechanical - the mechanical version tends to be preferable.

I have the X-33 pictured above, and a 1981 Jaques Mayol Plonger De Luxe - neither of which were produced as mechanical - but both of which I think cool, so bought.

    Horses for courses. :)

I've always admired the X-33 but I haven't had the opportunity to get one yet.

It appeals to the huge space geek in me... just don't let off the alarm in confined spaces... ;)

I have a soft spot for some of the "forgotten" models that popped up during Omega's quartz (mis) adventures. Mixed in to this thread are examples of the Calypso and Recife models, both of which I like (sorry - it's in French) http://www.forum-mdp.com/t872-seamaster-oubliees

Also, and slightly OT, I believe that occasionally a cal.1441 may have sneaked into Calypsos. From what I have read, this would give it an accuracy of +/- 2 spy
