Picked up a pair of the Dynaudio Special 40s -- these are terrific speakers for a smaller room.

You look like you might be a good guy to ask this question.... "what are the best wireless headphones to buy"?

    B&o here

I have an old Beosound 1 hanging up in the office and a Beosound 4 witha pair of Beolab 6000s in the dining room.

I'm in the process of setting up a cinema/games room for the kids with 4000s, 6000s and subwoofer connected to a beosystem 3 so they can have their fill of film and gaming on the big screen.

Very interesting, your thoughts mirror my findings. I use a dedicated mains circuit with heavier cable ( 30amp oven cable) from the home theatre to the mains input board.
I use a large auto transformer for all all ancillary equipment, not the power amps or electrostatics.
I have also noticed the system sounds at its best in the early hours of the morning (1-3 am), I assume the mains is cleaner then or maybe its just the ambient noise is lower.

My DNM pre-amp (pictured back in the thread) had a DC power supply (basically a large battery in a separate enclosure) - you could use it while it was being charged from AC, but when used purely with DC the sound quality was excellent. This would equate to having a separate circuit - though I haven’t compared mornings to evenings (I think coffee comes into that equation ;))

A HiFi thread now your talking.

I spend far too much on vinyl but just love the medium so much I can't help myself.
Below are a couple of old pictures.

I thought I could guess what would be in your record collection from your handle! Nice portrait of the great man there!

Wired QC20 Noise Cancelling. Absolutely amazing. The sound processor turns standard hifi to super hifi, and the noise cancelling virtually mutes the sound of my lawnmower. No kidding.

I just bought my wife the Bose Sport Wireless NC Ear Buds. Quite good and better than most, but bluetooth has necessary limitations on sound quality, so for what they are...pretty impressive. She's only going to use them for business calls and such so she likes them. I would not buy bluetooth headphones for hifi use.

When the load on the grid is lower, I think the sound is better. Less noise as you say - here that's later at night.

I didn't know Vinnie had his own brand now, instead of just being Red Wine Audio. I have an Amphora transportable amp by Vinnie and sold by ALO Audio, but never bought the higher end stuff. I liked the idea of a battery powered amplifier for stability and noise reduction, while using AC in an isolated circuit just to keep it charged. I had a Ray Samuels Audio Nighthawk phono preamp that was fantastic and worked on the same principle.

I see you have Audeze headphones which I think sound great (some of them) but I find my LCD-2 V2 to be too heavy to enjoy - it actually gives me neck pain to wear them for too long. That's why I stuck with HiFiMan headphones instead (and my HD-600 and HD-800s)

I prefer the Sennheiser Momentum wireless - I heard them at Rocky Mountain Audio Fest last September and they were pretty close to my V-MODA crossfade wireless II with AptX but the Sennheiser active noise canceling was a nice addition and quite good.

In the end I stuck with my V-MODA wireless II which also scale up when switching from BT to Wired with a upgraded DAC/amp, and used the money for the HD-800s at 20% off, and got a pair of the Momentum True Wireless. But, if I needed noise canceling the Sennheiser Momentum would be the way to go for me.
