so, when do we stop using these labels on watches in FS ads?? Meaning, when does a watch no longer qualify as such??

Well, technically as soon as it's worn, it's no longer either.

What about a watch that is tried on in a boutique by a few customers. Is it no longer BNIB when someone eventually buys it and it gets put back in the box? :)

The vast majority of FS descriptions claiming NOS are pure bullshit. NIB, the same.

Condition does rule, but I am willing and able to judge condition with no regard to a seller's use of those terms.

    And... though you didn't ask...

Apparently, New In Box (BNIB) means three months old and worn fewer than a dozen times.

And don't even get me started about "original".

NOS would mean it is still stickered but many years past sold time frame. Could need service but essentially unused.

NIB means stickered or sealed with warranty. Unworn.

I sold about 10 stickered Snoopies a couple years ago that was unearthed by a dealer who had them sitting in a basement he forgot about when he closed his stored and moved things home. That I would consider to be NOS as they were stickered and unused.

I'll have to keep an eye out for these in the future. I though BNIB meant
    Broken, now in bin.
