I was wondering if any of you have ever seen a modern TAG Heuer reissue of the Steve McQueen Le Mans Monaco watch in Caliber 12 with:

1) Caliber 12 not written on the face
2) solid metal back instead of the transparent back showing movement

I know some of the 40th and 50th anniversary limited editions have solid backs but also the back is inscribed with the number of the limited edition .

In the attached photos, the first two are suspect fakes, the last two are what I'm used to seeing. Both being sold from verified sellers on Chrono24!

You can see the reference engraved on the back of the left one - CW2113-0. This is not a Caliber 12, in fact this is the very first new Monaco in the blue and white colorway and was powered by the "Caliber 17". It's gross and looks fake, but it is sadly very real.

If you're ever in doubt about a TAG for sale, you could always ask the seller about the serial number (blacked out in that photo, underneath the reference) - TAG participates in some program that lets you look up serial numbers via an app or website. I can't remember off the top of my head what it was called, but a few brands participate in it.
