Wow.. so.. since nothing changed but the text on the sides of the caseback... they are selling for a premium on just the NATO, basically? What is this, the Met now becomes a omega AD? So since this is retailing for 5200 then since FOIS grey is around 3k, NATO is for 2.2k Wondering when this will be caught up on watchrecon
Me thinks the NATO strap is the leftover of the Austrian flag version of the olympics edition.... Doesn’t seem to be a LE NATO (despite the TheMet engraving...)
I wouldn't be surprised if we could order that NATO via the part number, really. It's right there in the pics too... CWZ010625 But the real question is if the 50th aniv Buzz butt edition bracelet is orderable without restriction
You can buy the NATO, ref. 031CWZ010624, for £125 on the Omega website... so in effect it's £2.075k for an engraved 'THE MET' keeper!
I've neglected to apply the exchange rate to this. Soooo... $5,200 is roughly £4,130. The FOIS is £3,640. The NATO is £125 (c.$157), which leaves a difference of £365 (c.$460), which works out as £60.83 ($88) for each letter of extra THE MET engraving on the caseback. BARGAIN!
Hodinkee says that this one is limited to 100. Anyone know if that’s true? Fifth ave boutique didn’t know. Met store had 10-20 orders since this am, so some are selling for sure..
Ah, got a call back from the boutique. Numbered in series with the rest of FOIS release since basically the same watch (other than ‘the met’ engraving). Doing a 100 sets initially. May make more since its not numbered with limitation.
