My FOIS turned up yesterday, but incredibly the AD sent it with the incorrect box. The box that turned up was the moonwatch box the size of a small coffee table and complete with a couple of extra straps, a loupe, a spring bar tool and a medallion/paper weight. The thing is I like these extras and i like the box and I want to keep it. Yes, I am greedy for the speedy. Any idea where I might, in a long shot, source a commemorative box outside of feeBay?

Sounds like a winner tbh, the big box you have ( all be it huge and will sit under my bed once I open my speedy for christmas ) cost a fortune if you but them online. I would suggest eBay, a boutique may be able to source the matching box if you went in and said you had lost the box in a move or something.

I would ask the AD you got the watch from. Maybe they are able to supply the appropriate FOIS box.
Just out of curiosity, did the box come with 20mm extra NATO straps and spring bars? Just asking because the FOIS has 19mm lug width.

Close to 20mm, 19.88 according to the vernier calipers. ;)

Close enough so that a blind man would be happy to see it.

The FOIS is a numbered edition. Is there a number on the plate in the box?

If it is you'll have a mismatched set.

Enough to keep a WIS awake at night.

I'd say thanks to AD for their generosity but politely demand the correct box (and return the shipping container if you have to).

    Haha...I know...but you and I do! :D

Fortunately for me the boxes don't have the number on the plate.

Your Speedy FOIS did indeed ship from AD with incorrect box and accessories. As mentioned previously, the lugs n your watch are "19mm" and really wont fit with the accessories provided.

You *want* the correct box for FOIS - the box is striking and is really a different experience altogether than the standard 42mm Speedy Moonwatch. I would insist and if necessary contact Omega in writing with certified mail paper letter. I assure you they will ship you the correct box.

The Speedy 42MM Moonwatch box and accessories alone is valued at almost $700 USD. Be sure to save the "outer, outer box" (brown cardboard) and ship to @Mad Dog

The FOIS Numbered Edition doesn't ship with a matched number plate in the box, unfortunately. It does come with a commemorative plate, however, just not numbered. :)

Thank you. Yes I have seen that one, but I think it's about €150 too much.

Do you really intend to use the, eh, OTAN-strap with the FOIS? I have had my FOIS for 3 years now, and 20mm NATOs look horrendous on it, IMO. Also, the FOIS is slightly dressier than a regular Speedmaster, so not a very good candidate for a NATO, no matter the width.
