Just got back from a mini GTG at the mall in Bal Harbour with Ulackfocus and gatorCPA. Great food, great people and great watches! We start by a having a nice lunch and looking at examples from each others collections (I apologize for the quality of the pictures, the lighting in the restaurant was not optimal). We then took our time browsing the selections at F.P. Journe, Breguet, Blancpain, Piaget, IWC, AP and a few others.... Staff in all the stores was super nice allowing us to try on anything and even offering some goodies. Thanks again Dennis for driving and working out the logistics!
I have a feeling this will be a growing thing. We might have to alter the date a little, but a spring Florida GTG is something that could be an annual rite. ps - the scenery at the shopping center was top notch!
I live 10 mins from there! Would have been great to meet some of the fellow members! You picked a great spot that's for sure!
I ran into the same problem lunching with MMMD a little while ago. I'll wager we are the only bunch that asks about lighting when we make a reservation. It's only a matter of time before they know what they're dealing with when they hear "booth away from high traffic areas, natural or soft light" and no questions about the menu other than the beer selection.
