i saw this Flightmaster for sale, and am wondering if the crystal de laminated, or there's some gunk under it? Has anyone seen anything like this before? The seller says the inner ring turns freely.
Thanks

I would bet it's minerals left after a liquid intruded...

These use a rubber o-ring to seal the crystal, looks like this has turned to goo. Nothing to do with the crystal itself.

Hi

Agreed , which then tends to wreck the internal bezel too !

As others have said, the o-ring is responsible. But on another note, is it me, or is the dial rotated slightly clockwise?

Dial looks okay to me. I think the internal chapter ring can be turned by one of the crowns, on this model. For the dial to turn, the entire movement would have to be turned, because of the subsidiary hands and their arbors. And they are oriented correctly.

Main issue for me was it had a cal 910 case back and they cannot give the movement valour number.

It could be anything but I'd guess a simple 911 with 910 case back.

?? Surely it is a 910??
The case looks good though, with sharp edges and well defined sunburst finish.

Thanks for the help, I decided not to bid on it. This watch sold for $2250 yesterday.

On the topic of Flightmaster crystals, does anybody happen to know whether cases 145.026 and 145.036 can take the same one and either the black or clear gasket? I understand that the black gasket was original to the 145.026 and that the clear gasket was original to the 145.036 for improved water (and aviation decompression) resistance; but I'd like to know whether the crystals are different and whether both types of gaskets are interchangeable as replacement parts, or interchangeable on the cases as long as the right gasket is matched to the right crystal. Thanks in advance.
