Background for my request is that I would like to put my CK2998-4 back on its original bracelet to wear it. (Just feel it is the best look for it!).

Despite a number of searches, I have not yet found a resource indicating how to replace / refurbish / manufacture the expanding links for flat-link bracelets.
So my question: has any of you, especially watchmakers, ventured in this type of activity? If yes, would you mind sharing with the community what type (material, gauge, quality, etc.) and possible from what source/manufacturer you used to recreate expanding links?? How did YOU achieve this?

Also, are there any special precautions or techniques you would want to recommend when proceeding with such an activity?
