    Very apt. Also have heard the term ‘chevron dial.’

    In construction (block paving, decking etc.) this design known as herringbone so maybe the same I guess

    The OP dial I'd call Herringbone. It was (and still is) a popular weave for Harris Tweed:

    The latter two examples are quartered dials and would have to find a new name.
