The first of many, I'm sure - it only arrived a few days ago and I think I'm already hooked. Keeping spectacular time so far at around +4 s/d, despite having never been serviced in 55 years or so. Amazing.

Very nice, and interesting. Looks like a Seamaster 30 case but without the branding.

Indeed, the seller said the same. I was planning on waiting a little while, considering how well it's keeping time -- I'm curious if there is any danger in wearing it in the meantime? The movement seems to be in extremely good condition, at least to my very very untrained eye. Here are a couple more pictures (from the seller, I don't have any means of opening the caseback and I wouldn't trust myself to at this point anyway):

While it looks nice and bright the original lubricants have long ago dried out.

So possible damage could occur to the gear train, etc. due to friction I suppose? Would you recommend not wearing it until I get it serviced?

Follow up question: can you recommend a watchmaker in the US that can work on these? I have no idea where to look for one or how much it should cost.

No, you should not use it until it's been serviced!

Good looking out, I'm letting it wind down. Haven't used it for long luckily. Can anyone recommend me a watchmaker I can send it to? I don't think I have any local.
