http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/melbourne-cbd/watches/1950-omega-vintage-14k-solid-gold/1071675057 hello everyone. I am absolutely beginner . I would like to purchase my first vintage watch. Came across this 1950s omega for sale. Could any experts in this forum give me some advice and rough valuation of this time piece. Thank you in advance
It really has no interest to collectors, at the dial has been refinished. That means that the dial has been repainted by a watchmaker during a service. Even if the dial was original, it would go for perhaps $500-700. The watch you see before you is worth $300-$350 and would only be used for scrap or gold melting.
Thank you MP. sound like ill give it a miss then. is the a particular Omega skeleton model anyone could recommend?
Omega isn't really known for their skeleton watch making and if you want to go vintage, you won't find anything. Vacheron and Piguet made nice vintage skeleton watches.
