This was my father's watch, given to me in the 1970s. I've not worn it often but today it just stopped. Took it in today for what I believe is its first ever service. I think the watch is 70 years old. When the watch was opened, this it what was revealed.
Did it really run flawlessly all these years ?

(Sorry I didnt think to take a picture of the watch face)

The pictures aren’t easy to tell if it’s the first service. Only the setting lever screw and one bridge screw look used. Maybe, maybe not. I’ll leave it to the experts.

There’s a watchmakers mark on Caseback near SC. So it’s not a virgin

Possible service mark from the past?

The movement looks nice and clean, but as we can't see the state of the lubricants it's hard to say if they're still doing their work.

Good thing you're looking after it.

Ok. Thanks everyone. I guess dad had it serviced at some point. This is likely it second service and its last one 40 plus years ago.
I made a point of takung my son with me to get it serviced. I told him I'm taking good care of his watch for him someday.
