Have a few question ,submariner date or no date?
And is it worth second hand looks like the price almost same as new
And if possible any good seller in uk
I'm on a waiting list in one shop far away
No shops around me , I feel closer to the no date
But can't see or try them
Thanks

Go for what you just told: a new Rolex Submariner 114060.
When you get the call that the watch has arrived you go and try it and by then you will know..
If it is not for you, you can just turn it down and maybe play with the thought of a 5 digit older model.

What I would do 😉

Buy a vintage one...hell, even a 1990s Sub with some patina.

Buy a new one and look like every other jackass with a modern sub.

This jackass votes for a 114060.

Yep, go for one with no warranty, scratchable bezel, inferior bracelet and clasp, crappier lume, and less shock resistance and anti-magnetism. For the same or more money. Because it's "vintage"... 🙄

Sure, that depends... There are a lot of vintage 5 digit subs out there as well.. A LOT!
So the question is; do you want to be a regular jackass or and old jackass 😉

If price was similar I would buy the new one. I'd buy the date version but that's just a personal preference

The question is Date vs nodate.

Do you pay more for the ugly cyclops?

For new/newish? Yes for me. If I’m going to wear s Rolex Sub I want people to know it’s a sub and the cyclops is part of the Rolex design language, able to be seen at a distance.

Personally I’d go vintage a nice patina just looks better. I’d hunt a nice birthyear piece. Ceramic bezels on the sub don’t do it for me. But everyone has their own tastes.

I'm admittedly biased, since I have a Sub Date in ceramic. I'd love to have a vintage Submariner eventually (5513 would be awesome), but the age of the watch means it's a lot less practical ... It can no longer be used for its original purpose, as nice as it is. I thought about getting the Sub without the date function, but it's more versatile with it, in my opinion.

I personally would go for a 2-line 14060 with a tritium dial (i think the last tritium dials were 1997-1998?) with creamy even patina - lume might still have some life (although on its way out), and at approx 20yo the watch itself has plenty of life to do what it was intended to do. Get it serviced and watch the tritium turn more and more glorious over time. You’re welcome.

None of my Rolex glow, none have a warranty, none have a tight bracelet, and all are whipass.

New Rolex...a watch that will never develop patina...no thanks. They scream striver to me unless of course you buy one as a beater or to actually dive.

I have to be honest didn't help to choose but what I take away is both is a great option can't really go wrong I think ,so far I'm waiting for the no date if I feel it's not what I like I just get the other in the shop
Thanks again

May I suggest that you buy new? It will be a tough all round companion that will serve you well. Date is useful . This jackass loves his modern GMT.

Thanks yes I will wait for new unfortunately far as I know about 10 people before me bummer ....
But they say could become quicker if someone not taking the watch as of now I'm down to no date but that can change easily
I like date on watch don't get me wrong just really want to see both to make a decision
