Recently came across this forum and joined. I am already learning a lot and enjoying everyone's posts and pictures. Longtime Rolex fan here until recently I started paying more and more attention to the Omegas. I'm eyeing very hard a Seamaster and figured what better place than here to get some advise and information on them. I had my eye on a 40mm PO along with a 300 with black face and ceramic bezel. I am going back and forth on which to pull the trigger on. It will be a daily watch and likely get some active weekend use as well on the lake and beach in a few months.

Welcome!! You honestly can't go wrong with either one, but my personal preference would be for the Seamaster 300. The whole mid-century modern design is amazing on the wrist. Keep us posted!

The SMP is a true Omega original. There is nothing like it and it's a work horse.

The PO is a little more traditional and blunt as a tool watch but equally satisfying.

If you are a traditional guy PO, if you are a little more openinded SMP. Ofnits an only watch PO, if you have another sub Smp

Best of both worlds? Get the SM 300 master coaxial. Not this year's but the one from a couple of years ago.

Try all three on the wrist at the store and see which one sings to you. Pay attention to the added heigth of the PO as well.

    Good luck!

Best advice would be to just try them at a dealership, see which one fits your wrist the best!

What is the general thoughts on the 300 Diver ? I have been eyeing the one with the black bezel. Interesting point brought up on the PO. The height of the watch could become an issue, leaning slightly more towards the 300 Diver now.

Great to get advice but, in the final analysis, taste is subjective. Try both on, imagine daily wear/use, and then make a decision. Hard to go wrong with either choice.
