Hi this is a watch I was given in the mid 1970's,I finally got motivated to polish the crystal and remove the Fix o flex band and put on a old leather strap.
Watch is a manual wind with maybe 12 hours of reserve.
I'm thinking watch is from the 50's ?

1950s is a good guess; the lugs are big and beefy. The font, though hard to see with the pics provided, look appropriate. The hanger S on Seamaster dates from the 50s to very early 60s (61 or 62). Would be best to see a shot of the movement with the serial number; this can be done when it gets a service. And don't polish the case-it is in great shape! That crown looks original, but others with more experience can confirm that. Nice looking piece!

If it has 12 hours of power reserve it definitely needs service, it should be 48 hours or so

Who ever gave it to you was doing you a favor. I am not going to play "guess the price " but with a GBP100 service you have a watch worth significantly more.
    Lovely waffle dial:)
Get it serviced and enjoy it!

I agree with Northernman, that is a nice dial-waffle ans two-tone. I think it will clean up nicely, and will be a great daily wear. When you get it serviced, be sure to ask for pics of the movement and case back, and share with your friends here! :)
