    Hi.
Yes I am new to the Omega forum so please be gentle!!
I have joined because as you can see from the photo’s I own an Omega, my first one.
I have read a lot on here over the last couple of weeks but would still appreciate any advice please.
Questions I would like answered if poss.
    Is it genuine.
    The date of manufacture.
How best to understand the serial numbering system.
What is wrong with the fingers, should they be green in the centre like others on here I have seen.
Can I get a new glass for it somewhere in the North West?
Should I have it cleaned as it does run OK but does gain 10mins a day.
What size strap should I purchase.
Thanking you all in advance and looking forward to your replies.
    Joe.

Movement from around 1945 and as @watchlovr states John Senior is the man for you, new crystal, hands lumed and a service, fully retarded and gaining ten minutes a day tells something is required.

    Hi Joe
Welcome to the forum-many knowledgeable and helpful members here
This watch would make a nice avatar for you-maybe pick one before someone here "assigns" you one
    Nice find-looks good-serial numbers match
If its running 10 min fast, it should be cleaned-but not by Omega
Hands are missing their lume-still a bit left on the minute hand
Lume color on hands should match the lume color on the dots at each numeral on the dial
Some collectors would leave the hands as is and not re lume in order to keep the watch in its original state
You will have to make that decision
Serial number looks correct for the watch -you can google Omega serial numbers and find a chart to date Omega movements
Good that you have the movement retaining ring
glass is an easy replacement as is a strap
    Fixed bars are correct
John Senior as mentioned above is the best service source for these British military watches
Contact him and he will recommend what to do, but you will have to ship the watch to the UK
You have a very desirable and highly sought after military watch. The values of these has been going up and up
Congrats and Good Luck in whatever you choose to do
and please wear the watch rather than keep it hidden away in a box

Nice looking watch with a sharp un-polished case, nice crown & hands too (albeit missing lume) + original dial you don't usually see the numerals in such good condition the paint usually flakes, also seems to be a original survivor radium lume dial, that can bother some people as they usually read pretty high 30-60 Sv/Hr

I see the self regulator is all the way over to the R (fast) turn it back to centre & the time keeping might improve

Definitely get it serviced its case-back gasket looks worn/missing? & all those hairs over the movement won't help. As above John Sr is your man + he has original plexis in stock Obsoletewatch&clockparts.com

    Regards
    Mr.H

First, the R is for "Retard" so it's adjusted to the slow side, not the fast side (A is for Advance, so that is the faster side). And usually the regulator is in a specific position for a reason, so just advising people to move the regulator and it "might improve" the timing is not very good advice.

Having it serviced is good advice though, and the watchmaker should correct any timing faults at that time...

    Cheers, Al

Hi: I have been a collector for over 40 years and have a very diverse watch collection of mostly 1930 - 1950s watches.
I recently picked up a few watches from a person who's father worked for the RAF form 1954 - 1991. He had a small collection of WWII related military watches. I am posting a photo of the case back of one of these watches as I can not find an answer to why '11:11:11. is stamped into the case back. The watch is otherwise identical to the watch posted by Jove14. Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Sorry if the photo is not of the best quality, but I hope it is good enough to see what you need. Thank you!

    I don't see 11 11 11

Also I don't think its a genuine caseback, markings are off

Trust me. It is not WWW. It is '11:11:11. I also know enough about Omega watches. It is original!
    Thanks!

Are you going to fool us?

I assume you need better glasses or maybe you should take a loupe...

It seems that only you are unable to read the obvious
