New member here. I just picked up a brand new Omega Aqua Terra 150m Quartz timepiece. I was really torn between a Breitling or Tag automatic and the Omega quartz (roughly the same price) but the classic appearance of the grey teak concept and the Omega brand won me over. Can't help but think about the auto vs quartz dilemma, but the Omega auto was way out of the price range right now. Spending over $2500 on a quartz seems excessive but I wanted this to mark our 20th wedding anniversary and also have a family heirloom quality piece. I choose to believe that I invested in more than just the Omega name and that there is quality to the Omega quartz movement, I guess I need a little reassurance from the forum! I know on the Internet it isn't true unless verified by pics so I will work on getting some posted.
welcome. the AT is a beautiful watch. have a look at this interesting thread about quartz movements http://omegaforums.net/threads/quartz-watches-some-information-some-may-find-interesting.5475/
Thanks for that link. Wow- so much to learn. So it would seem that there is a lot more going on under the hood of an Omega Quartz watch than meets the eye.
