Morning all.

A stroke of luck came my way yesterday. I joined the forum a few days ago and have posted a few times requesting advice on my shortlist of 3. One of these was the SMP 2228.80.00. Whilst out and in a local town yesterday afternoon, I spotted a James Bond variant (2226.80) in a jeweller's window. Being a big Bond fan too I had to enquire within. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and after some scrutinising, negotiation and bracelet adjustment I'm now the proud owner of my first Omega . The watch is mint. It comes with all the cards, 12m jeweller's warranty but unfortunately no box, which is a shame but by no means a deal breaker (especially with the price I was able to negotiate).

A big thank you to all the friendly support and advice I've received on here so far. I look forward to hanging around for a long time yet.
(PS. Not sure how/why the photos have uploaded mid sentence)

Congratulations! And careful, this could be an enabler to an expensive hobby/addiction!

Haha. Thanks and for the warning!

I've been in to watches for a while so I get the whole addiction thing, but this could be at another level. Fortunately a lack of disposal income quells my urges (for now). I've been saving for an Omega for a long time so the end result is highly satisfying. .but I can easily understand how obsessional collecting them could be.

Yeah, I thought that.
These are nice I thought and I was over the moon when I got my granddads omega.
Then a speedy pro....
Then a PO...
Thankfully funds have now run dry but I'm still looking.... Lol

Thank you. 24 hours in I can't believe my luck. Stunning example and so comfortable. Lume is magnificent. Crown action is amazing (smooth, as are the hands) although I was initially spooked when hand winding to hear the fully-wound 'clutch click' (or at least that's what I hope it is). I can really appreciate why these cost so much now.

Congratulations and welcome to addicted club. Careful with you pocket, you will lost more than the amount you earned from your negotiation. Cheers!!!

Nice that you were able to find it locally. I haven't seen it at any boutiques but haven't been in a while.

Thank you. It was totally weird. I was mooching around the town (oggling the watches in two or the three stores there) and just before cloaing time, and picking up my kids from an event they'd been to, had a quick glance in the window of a local, family jewellers and there it was amongst a few other used Omegas. Speaking to the sales lady it had been there for a month and they'd forgotten to post it on their website!

I guess for me it was just meant to be (a double whammy as being a big Bond and Omega fan this has been a grail for over a decade) ..and negotiating 20% off too just clinched it. Best day out shopping, ever ☺

Congrats!
Just a curious question, does anyone know how many Bond edition watches have the "Trade Mark Info" under the 007 on the clasp?
I have seen some with and some with out.

Mine has TM, under the 007 logo, and then TM Danjaq under that.
