    Hi everyone.....

Here is a watch i had for years..... I knew it was special when i found it during a net search..... of all places it was for sale on a high number cable channel shopping network! I called the number on the site... asked if they still had it ... guy told me to hold on.... did not put me on hold just put the phone done on the desk... and I was able to hear the live broadcast of the shopping show.. amazing.... guy gets back on ... " you i have it right here..." I asked if he could send me a photo... no need... we are live on the air , I can just flash it on the screen ...he told me the channel and I said ..ok.... i tuned in... and low and behold... the announcer says... hey Bill how is this?! and the watch on the screen... I saw it for a sec and so looks ok to me... ship it !

    Thanks for posting Bill.

As a newcomer it's great to be introduced to these great watches and movements. Looking forward to doing some further reading on these.

That is a great find Bill, did they throw in a Sham-Wow?;)

Love me some early Japanese no-nonsense chronometer action, they have a certain “look” to them, and your 31j even more the business.

Here’s a Seiko equivalent (1st gen) with a “tadpole” regulator I picked up, seller’s pic.

Yup, this one is a beauty. The substantial case reminds me of those used by IWC in their ref. 866 Ingenieur. Love the gold medallion, too. Add a fine movement with a huge balance wheel, and you get a terrific and uncommon chronometer.

    look at that balance wheel!

I love big ol balances that take up half the movement.
