Well, following the epic saga (and success) of the crown hunt below - I decided that I would start on my own quest.
    https://omegaforums.net/threads/vin...165-020-help-w-crown.55191/page-2#post-684647

I am looking for a golden crown for a Connie f300hz with a reference 198.0006. Currently rocking a goofy round no-name crown that not only isn't correct but looks awful. Any help or guidance here would be absolutely great. Thanks in advance OF!

The example I am basing my hunt off may not be correct. Nor are any of the photos great for getting a solid picture.

The closest thing I can find to the crown I am looking for is here:

I believe that the crown shown on this SS version is flat? Which sure doesn't help me narrow down the correct crown...

Try ofrei. I searched using the reference and there's a crown that looks like the one in the top photo.

Current replacement crown is 069SX43099 - it's 2N yellow gold and PVD coated, so not a solid gold crown...

So long as it is correct I am not worry about it being solid gold. I would just like to complete the watch and get the rubbish crown off it.

Quick update - I picked up a crown and will hopefully get it in the next few days. Any advise for attaching? I have heard a glue like lock-tite, but I haven't done this procedure before.

How far are you from a watchmaker?

(In distance I mean, not skills and experience)

As for Loctite, you shouldn't need it, but if you do use it, choose wisely.

First you cut the wires and lines, remove mounting bolts..... lift the engine out, if you have trouble just use a crowbar. After removing the engine it should be soaked in WD40 for no less then 44 hours and no more then 52 hours, blow dry the spark plugs with a hair dryer as you do not want excessive heat. Re-install the engine and electrical tape the wires and hoses back together. You should be good for at least 36,000 miles.
If you lose any mounting bolts, duct tape works well.:D:D

I'm sure a watchmaker would do this for you for a reasonable price. Depending . on the crown you may need to have the stem filed down or may even need another stem fitted.
Hope you get it back on your wrist again soon.

Well I am afraid this was a swing and a miss. I bought one off eBay labeled 43099. The crown looks about right, but appears to be too small for the case.

Sent a message to Ofrei but didn't get much confidence that the crown he sells as a 43099 is a bigger size. I may ask for some measurements to confirm.

Did you apply silicone grease to the seal and case tube? They are tight, so it may take a bit of force to get it on the tube. It's also possible that someone sold you the wrong crown, or the case tube has been changed to an incorrect tube at some point...the joy of working on vintage watches...

Cousins have this crown. I don't know what the NA suffix means but underneath they list the part number Al mentioned.

You're very likely to need a stem and someone to fit it as well but, this may be the right crown.

    Hope this helps, Chris

I did not apply any silicone grease to the seal and case tube. The depth of the crown was only roughly 1mm. So I am hopeful that you are correct about it being an incorrect crown. I shipped it back this morning so I am ready to try again. The one @ChrisN shows dimensions of 1.9mm deep and 4.1mm across - that is about double the depth and at least 1mm larger across as well. Before I buy could anyone clarify what the "Tap 9" is referencing? Thanks

Thanks for the help! And certainly fair enough, this project may be growing. I can't really tell you how badly I wish I had a watchmaker around here, I am hardly green when it comes to tinkering on watches. I may just end up hoarding the original parts until I can get in somewhere.

Bob at Ofrei told me that the reference number has two possible crowns. So I may have to find a 43067 - maybe they have that as well. As I just wrote above the crown you found at cousins is larger than the one I received. It was 1mm deep and 3mm in diameter, so I have hope this one will work!

@Archer is it possible that this reference would have this crown on instead? Significantly different design, but again Bob at Ofrei relayed that this could be the correct crown. I am glad I wrote down the measurements of the previous crown I ordered to be able to tell the difference between the two. But the significant difference is diameter not depth. It appears that depth is my problem so maybe this one at 2mm is the ticket?

Tap 9 or Tap 10 refers to the threat tap size of the stem. I was told that Cousins tap sizes are incorrect (in format), I'll see if I can find the reference.
