    Morning all,

I realise how hard they are to come by with only 300 editions made but I am going to Tokyo later this month and was wondering if anyone has any experience sourcing watches in Japan and might have a recommendation of somewhere I might have a chance of finding a Mitsukoshi?

Otherwise since I have small girly wrists anyway a Marui may be a better fit anyway as a back-up option.
Anyone have any suggestions for a Marui, in Tokyo or otherwise?

    Thanks in advance!

From that OP's recommendation, I was able to later visit Item by Time Anagram in Shibuya. They didn't seem to have the rare pieces you are seeking but had beautiful inventory otherwise. Tiny, hole-in-the-wall place but so edifying to see young men in the business of resurrecting and preserving these marvelous old watches!

A legit full set Mitsukoshi has always been in the back of my mind. I've looked at the typical suspects over the past few years around Tokyo and never ran into one.

I usually visit Nakano Broadway (especially hit up the bigger stores...Jack Roads, Kamekichi, NJ Ginza Times etc), Ueno (Biggest Quark outside Ginza), Shibuya (Housekihiroba etc), Ginza (Evance, Quark, Rasin etc) and whatever second hand stores I find. A lot of fun watch shopping in Japan...but vintage scene is a large mixed bag with high prices.

the last time I had seen a complete set for sell was through a private seller. Otherwise I haven't seen any of these for the past year or so. I think the Mauri can still be found, I think there was one listed not too long ago.

    Good luck.

Doesn't look like a FOIS. More like a regular moonwatch. Looks awesome btw.

How did you do that? Just curious, does it damage the watch at all?

You just buy the dial and hands and get a watch repairer to fit them for you. Doesn't hurt the watch at all.

Yep it was about 25k jpy, however at that time it was 80 jpy to 1 usd. I scoffed at how "overpriced" it was especially for komehyo.

    25K jpy?
You can find it on eBay. Expect around 500-700 for the set of hands and dial.
