The PR 516 that I have bought two weeks ago has been swapped today for another vintage Tissot. My latest acquisition is a NOS Tissot PR 526!

The watch came at a reasonable price, complete with 2 extra links. The serial no. dates it back to 1976. This Tissot has an Omega 1010 ebouche and features hacking seconds, quick-set date and automatic winding.

Features of this watch that appeal to me most:
-the hands pass underneath the hour indices
    -the striking orange seconds hand
    -the integrated bracelet.

I am really happy with it!

For the record, this was my PR 516 that had to go:

The elevated chapter ring and indices are a nice feature.

A watch that inspires envy :D

I was positively surprised when it arrived, for I had bought it without seeing pictures of the actual watch. The previous owner just informed me that it was in 'really good' shape and that it was serviced 5 months ago. Thus far (after three 24 hour cycles) the watch runs slow 7 seconds.

    OMG, 7 seconds!!!!!

Something very very wrong there, probably a serious problem with the movement.

You should put it on the FS forum and save yourself any further problems.

Well, I am told it has an Omega 1010 ebauche. I am not entire sure what ebauche actually comprises of, probably the base plate and certain elements of the movement. It was finished with Tissot parts as far as I know and is also signed as a Tissot 2930 movement.

In case anyone has some additional information, please share! :)

The term usually refers to a watch movement that is at the very least unassembled, or has not been completely finished yet. The company buys it from someone else in an incomplete state, and it may require decoration, plating, assembly, and adjusting/regulating.

As you can see, Tissot did not use the same copper finish on the movement plates that Omega used, and they appear to have a nickel finish. I suspect the balance cock is actually from an Omega movement and is not original to this watch.

Overall, a very nice looking watch in good condition.

    Cheers, Al
