I’ve admired the Mitsukoshi Speedmaster for so long. The beauty of that panda dial...wow! I can’t blame anyone for wanting to do the mod. I’ve even thought about doing it myself, but once I had built up the watch fund, my attention shifted to the real thing.

It’s been on my buy list for four years now. However, things never lined up. When a watch came onto the market, I didn’t have the funds available. When I had the money, there were no watches to be found, and I would end up buying something else before the next one popped up.

I got another bite on the line earlier this month. Again, I was not perfectly prepared. The difference this time was a clear understanding that the infrequency of Mitsukoshi Speedmasters coming to market requires decisiveness and swift action to reel in the right watch.

I took action. The Mitsukoshi is now on my wrist!



This is part of a full set. I have the box, manual, and most importantly, the warranty card stamped by the Mitsukoshi department store.

 

That's the way it's done. Know what you want, do your research, and when the opportunity presents itself, you're ready to pull the trigger.
