Thanks to this forum, I have a watch that I am finally, completely satisfied with. To go with my '68 Transitional, I have completed it with a great looking DON bezel and an equally pristine 1039/516 bracelet. I feel like I can finally stop searching the next addition to make this watch perfect.

While these latter add-ons cost a pretty penny and some may feel like they are wasted on an
861, I feel content...for now. I am just afraid staying on this forum will bring up another itch sooner or later.

For now, I will enjoy this one.

I got the same virus...it took me a few months to source a pair of 506 endlinks then 1035 bracelet/archive&box... to feel complete and content. Cant wait for the bracelet to arrive this weekend.

Completing a project is exceptionally satisfying.
But once the 'hardware' is complete does the 'virus' force you to find the correct box, instruction manual etc ??

I emailed @pitpro a month ago about getting out of the game for awhile...

    Last lasted...well, about two weeks.

Good luck, you just sucked on the 321 crack pipe, there is no turning back.

Thanks everyone, you have been very reassuring...:whipped:

My focus next is to add a different brand to my collection (focus now is on a Lange 1 or JLC Reverso) to go with my current collection of PP 4146G, AP 15202ST, VC Patrimony, Rolex 114060, Rolex 16710 and of course, fitting in very comfortably in this collection, my beloved transitional.

Sadly, the enabling on this forum also makes me think there is a 2998 in my future.

I stumbled on this forum as a casual vintage Rolex collector looking for a simple gold plated dress watch to add to the collection. Year later I have added a 2998, 2913, several constellations and started obsessing with having dots over my 90s, flatlinks on my bracelets, and 6s on my end links. Oh how the virus spreads...

That's quite a collection you already have there!! This forum is quite an enabler for future purchases though so be careful. That 68 transitional is beautiful, you did very well getting it all together.

    Congrats on a fantastic combination.

But beware! The abyss stares back! Soon you'll want something with a drop chrono hand. Or maybe you'll need something with the 321 movement. But mkI only!

Better enjoy your watch while you can. . . .
