After months of searching, paying my noob-taxes and picking up pieces that were lovey but not exactly what I was wanting, I finally got my Silver Seamaster. The learning curve has been steep but my education here (thank you all for the tough love) allowed me to spot a diamond in the rough and pounce on it when it came up. It may not be the most desirable model, but it’s in spectacular shape (after cleaning the nastiness off and giving it a good round with polywatch) and has the proportions and styling I wanted. I am done with my Silver Seamaster hunt, the wanderlust is over.

    That dial looks amazing. Congrats!

By the way, I think the silver 600 is very desiriable. It's got a very attractive dial and a very classic look. Enjoy!

I have 2 Deville’s and a 14763 and I love how thick and squared off the case on this is compared to the others, not to mention it’s a bit larger, so has more wrist presence.
And yes, that dial is flawless, lugs are sharp, original crystal- back hasn’t beeen polished away, about as good as I could have asked for.

Is silver seamaster reference to a case style or specific reference?

Nope. But the 600 came in different dial setups and cases (diameter and materials).

I have always referred to the silver dialed Semasters from the 60’s as Silver Seamaster’s as opposed to the black dialed 300’s, 120’s & 60’s. It’s more of a nickname- not an official name but when I say it people know exactly what I am talking about.
