My wife and I are expecting our first child and, to mark the occasion, I thought it would be fun to get myself my first chronograph.

I've had my eye on getting a cushion Seamaster for years and, in particular, really love the 176.007 blue dial. I've seen a few in rough shape show up on eBay or ones in gold or gray, but held out. When I saw a blue one in amazing condition being sold by Stefan on FS, I was excited, but then quickly crestfallen as someone else had already agreed to buy it. It was a long-shot, but I posted that if it fell through, I was interested. Luckily for me, it did and I jumped at the chance to get it.

It's been on my wrist for a couple of weeks and I couldn't be happier with it. For now, I have it on a simple black, Hadley-Roma strap.

I hope you are not disappointed to learn it is a 176.007 and not .001.
    Nice watch!:)

Please note the absence of the tachymeter scale.

arg. Yes, it's a 176.007. I mistyped the number in the thread title and it doesn't seem to let me change it.

Beautiful example of the best-looking 1040 chrono (IMO, and I suspect I'm not alone).
Great to use because it's so easy to read!
    Congrats!
