Next up will probably be a 3576.50 moonphase. There is one on c24 new/unworn. Just don't have the free cash at the moment, hopefully I can find one around christmas.

·I was interested in this until I saw it was 14.75mm thick. No thanks.
And that's with a solid case back. Need to wear in my Ploprof next time I go to the OB so it doesn't feel too thick.

There’s a world where I justify the thickness by the added water resistance, but I’ve never thought to wear a speedy in a situation where I’m concerned with water resistance.

·Yep, it’s so close to perfect for something I could wear everyday with no stress - except that 14.75mm. Good excuse to go try on, so mission accomplished for Omega 😂

·I suppose there is sufficient market for a smaller, automatic movement Speedmaster, but it still seems like a red headed stepchild to me. And too thick. I'm not their market, nor I suspect are most here on OF.

·This release really grinds my gears. When the James Bond First Light Seamaster 300m Chronograph came out with its 44mm case, 52.8mm lug-to-lug, and 17.2mm thickness I figured no big deal. This was not a watch intended for me. I'm not a super tall burly gent nor do I have huge wrists.
But a 38mm Speedy is exactly in my wheelhouse. And to be 14.75mm thick is a kick in the nuts. I thought the 39.5mm Planet Ocean with its 14mm thickness was a top heavy watch (I was planning to buy one until I tried it on at the boutique). And at least the PO can use its 600m water resistance as an excuse. This release is far worse.

·Thickness check. My 3523.80 is 14.1mm, white 3861 is 13.5, the BB Chrono is a tank at 14.5, and my Diver 300 is only 13.8. All wear just fine on my tiny wrist.

·I'm part of the target audience, as I have svelte wrists and prefer a 39mm as the perfect size. 38 works fine. Who's going to notice 1mm? The proportions are a bit off, what with the tall case, but at least they got rid of those hideous oval subdials, right?
I do like the white with blue bezel, but my white 3861 actually looks pretty good on me, and I don't mind winding it occasionally. I think it's the date window that offends me the most. That and the thickness. And the shape of the lugs. Not sure that I like the blue hands either.

·do we have a CEO that push engineers towards thinners watches?, or his work is smiling in any possible photo...he needs to wear all models to realize...the thickness problem

·I kinda feel like a broken record on this topic, but my sub is 12.5mm thick at 40mm case, rated to 1000ft, proportions are perfect for me for a dive watch. A 38 reduced speedy at close to 15mm is complete insanity IMO, the case thickness is a major problem across many current Omega watches. I couldn't care less about what kind of tech they cram in there to try and justify the thickness. Of course we always have people jump into this convo, and say the thickness is not a requirement based on the movement, it's an intentional choice by Omega. I'm not an engineer, so I don't know, I kind of doubt that, but if it's true, that's even dumber.
Altogether I don't really pay much attention to what Omega is doing these days, except for a few of the vintage inspired models (like the newer FOIS, newer 321, etc). It's kind of crazy you have to get a vintage re-issue in order to have reasonable case dimensions, but somehow they feel that doesn't have to apply to every other watch they make? I don't get it.

Exactly! I found myself searching for old reduced models today, which I’ve done exactly never before 🤣
Haven’t looked at older reduced models yet but maybe I should. Come to think of it, aren’t the Schumacher Racing Speedys reduced models? 🤔

·This happened to me with the Speedy Mark II reissue. I ended up with an original Mark II. Also preferred no date window in that scenario.
Haven’t looked at older reduced models yet but maybe I should. Come to think of it, aren’t the Schumacher Racing Speedys reduced models? 🤔
