    What a wonderful watch. It's on my list as well, but considering the current prices, it's probably going to stay a dream.

    @CajunTiger very nice example, congrats.
    Also I really like the straps. Would you mind sharing who made them and where you sourced them?
    Thanks in advance

    Very cool!

    I have also been looking at 1016’s for a while.

    However the amount of Frankens and redials and the price level made me not yet pulling the trigger.

    Nice one! How do you find the size compared to the pieces your usually wear?

    I have been staring at it on my wrist for a week trying to figure out why...but the size is perfection. I think its partly to do with the symmetry and mostly to due with the overall balance of the design and the bold 3-6-9 combined with the beautiful lugs. But the size is absolutely perfect. There are times when I like a larger watch, but in general this can't be beat...its almost as if I had a custom watchmaker design the watch specifically for my wrist. And this is with a leather strap...cant wait to find a 7836/280 from 1974 to mate with this beauty.

    patience.

    I have been wanting to add one for the past ten years...when I started looking they were around $4k, I thought that was too much for such a simple watch and waited...and waited, and waited until the prices rose over 400%. What a fool :)

    Surprisingly they are not easy to find in good condition considering the reference was made for over 25 years. Fortunately I held out for the right example. My advise...dont wait :)

    Now im off to search for the perfect 6610.

    I'm with you and I've met so many people that feel the explorer might be the perfect size watch, period. It's certainly a great argument to those that think anything less than 40mm is too small. Congrats on the pickup, it's gorgeous.
