At 47mm, that's a rather large disappointment. It seems like the Swatch Group bought Blancpain and now no longer knows what to do with the brand. Can't make divers with mass appeal, that's Omega's territory. Can't make high end dress pieces either, that belongs to Breguet. Wouldn't it be nice if they would just make a normal sized, non-limited edition Fifty Fathoms - preferably without the etching on the side of the case?

They can’t even make most of the Longines heritage line without fucking them up somehow. I think they are sharing a design team with Tudor.

I don't disagree with the mismanagement of brand heritage... But, for some reason I'm intrigued by the 3-hour counter. I think maybe I'm just easily bemused by strangely specific complications.

That was my thoughts I’d like to know a little more what went into that. I actually like the look of the watch even the script on the case but that 47mm, plus the 27k of course leave me not getting it. I love blancpain though and would love to see omega due something with it, well more than they are. A guy at the watch shop I stop by has a blankpain aqua or aqualung I forget at the moment but it’s really nice looking I think 499 of them were made.

Interesting looking watch, at least it’s got something a bit different, and I like the orange. Can’t say I like the ‘Tech’ on the dial though.

I kind of like the applied numerals/indices and the domed bezel insert but the mismatched colors between the two doesn’t work for me. I would ditch the pumpkin orange and match them with a nice faux lume.

That's an odd notion. They must have sent them all to the Philippines except that watch the guy has. Those islands are loaded with aqualungs and I think we had at least 10 of them over the years and seen 10x that which we passed on due to condition and price.

The font of the "tech" is horrible on this dial.
    "Tech" is just horrible too.

Ya I did have a picture I just find it very nice. It needs like four more lines of text to be a proper water watch though.

Having been a wedding photographer for many years, that wouldn’t have been the worst.
I was always amused how many people chose Every breathe you take by the Police ….have they listened to the words, do they realize what that song is about?

Why 47mm? Maybe they think they can get an Invicta owner to jump over.

Years back I owned the blue fifty fathoms, it was incredible. But at 45mm it was just too big for me.

Give it a couple of years and they’ll be 50mm +

Maybe humans’ wrists are getting bigger?

I think these companies are like oil tankers and take forever to maneuver. The giant watch craze has been dying for the last 5 years and there has been a return to more sane sizing (35-38mm for slim bezel, 39-41 for sport bezel). The microbrands have been on top of this and can pivot quickly- but i think companies like Swatchgroup are akin to General Motors in the 70’s.
