Hey All,

New to the forum here and new to Omega watches. I have been following them a bit online and my wife surprised me with one. Would be open to any feedback on it also trying to determine the year. Thanks in advance.

Nice surprise... 馃榾

This model came in various designs.

Case has not been polished and is in good shape. The watch appears to be in good condition, but pics of the movement would tell more.

I would guess this one is from the mid to late 1960s.

Thank you below is another photo the serial number has been drilled out and I was given a 5 page article as to why that is ok and that the watch is still genuine would be open to any feedback on that as well if people on here would know.

This was the article I was given. It鈥檚 a long but interesting read hopefully my wife wasn鈥檛 ripped off. The guy is a local collector and I wouldn鈥檛 have a problem reaching him if need be.

I鈥檇 be curious as to what reasons were stated in the 5 page article for the serial to be removed. Would be concerned that the watch was stolen and the serial was removed to prevent tracing it. Hopefully, that鈥檚 not the case...

Goes beyond watches...Anything with a serial number is always up for fraud by someone with a scheme...Human nature.馃檨

Interesting case! So watches like these are legit, but do not fall within Omega鈥檚 official guarantee. Kind of a gray area thing going on there insofar as it concerns the customers.

An early adopter of Grey Marketing.

I don't think the "do not fall within Omega鈥檚 official guarantee" applies any more (in the case of these watches).

As to the watch.

Crisp case 馃憤, bullet proof 600 series movement 馃憤, nice semi-rare "technical" dial 馃憤.

Of course. I meant back in the 70s when the case was decided. My favorite decade, I might add (though I wasn鈥檛 born in it). 馃榿

Thank you. Being my first the serial number issue isn鈥檛 the best however I find the watch to be very clean and sleek looking and as a gift from my wife I will enjoy it regardless with no intention to sell it.
