I feel like there wasn't much of a point to livestreaming this - it's certainly a very special event for those in attendance, but nothing was said that was broadcast that we don't already know, with the small exception of the Gene Cernan LE tidbit.

Was he referring to a new Gene Cernan LE for 2017 or was he referring to the Apollo 17th , 40th anniversary edition ?

Sounded like the 60th Anniversary piece will include a tribute to Gene Cernan since he passed away recently, but I suppose both a 60th and a Cernan LE is possible. That'd bring this year's Speedmaster LE tab to three though which would be a bit much

Anyone else think that was fυcking pointless..? Someone there is going to leak what it looks like, another missed opportunity on Omega's part.

I think it was a strap, the box was long and thin.

Not quite a 'Steve Jobs' keynote...

When Raynald did the "Wait... there's one more thing..." I thought the same thing. Only, Jobs never opened a box and started flinging silicone gel bracelets into the audience. (Fine, we didn't get to see that happen... but in my mind it totally did!) 😉

Exactly my point, Hodinkee advertised this stream as

"a history of the speedmaster, and the future."

It was that, but only for those in attendance. For the rest of us it was about as substantial as those George Clooney videos where they have him talking about hearing about the moon landing

Another reason to prefer vintage watches. No one cares if Omega botched the rollout of the 145.022-78.

Raynald definitely tipped off a LE Cernan is coming ::psy::

He said: "...already finished and quite an attractive one I have to admit; also to the fact its a tribute to Gene Cernan who was not only the last man who was on the moon, but who was a tremendous ambassador, not only to Omega, but an ambassador of this incredible time of pioneering and the moon expedition..."

I'm in, where do I put in my deposit? 😁

One small proviso to my earlier comment... if this is just a reworked Apollo 17 LE, with the same mission logo dial, I reserve the right to withdraw my earlier commitment to putting in a deposit 😁

Leather NATO straps with a Hodinkee logo on them were given to the guests. A new Basel release speedy was displayed, but it was co-axial and rose gold so not that exciting to me. Spiro T Agnes's gold speedy was pretty cool to hold in my hands

Absolutely, IMO he's more valuable than many of their brand ambassadors and wears a bowtie better also.

Ugh! Just wrapped up watching the event. Not taking the cameras to show online viewers a pic was brutal! Talk about being road hard and hung up wet...
