For sale is a very nice and rare Favre-Leuba Bivouac Ref. 53223 aka when Function meets Funk. The Favre-Leuba Bivouac Ref. 53203 was launched in 1962 and was the first wrist watch with Altimeter / Barometer function. This watch belongs to the third evolution of the Bivouac vintage series and is according the production numbers the rarest. I have used this watch very often on my tours in the swiss alps, so the altimeter function was very important for me. Fantastic piece! For folks not familiar with these watches, this is in great example and the fact that barometer/altimeter is functioning is a big deal --as they are very difficult to repair/replace. Up to the top!! GLWS!!
Another price adjustment before I change my mind to keep it 5600 CHF / 5250 EUR / 6080 USD / 4520 GBP Shipping within EU also possible
Amazing piece! could you briefly explain how the bezel relates to the dial information / bezel functionality?
Thank you The dial explains the pressure in mm Hg (millimeter mercury) but this is not so important itself for the altimeter function. Please find below the instruction of FL to the Bivouac.
