And please $1000 fair market value rather than something like "bought it for $50 but really is worth $5000" kind of situation. Pictures a necessity!

This one was $850 including a rather odd and unique slide-opening style BoR bracelet that I've not seen another example of thus far in my travels... sadly that slide opening bracelet was a shitty design and very broken so it was replaced with a normal BoR. Its a Cal 501 in good-ish shape with a bit of patina on the dial but all original including crown (and the bad bracelet), the guy I bought it off had a bag full of Bulovas and a heap of vintage Omegas he was selling and never wore any of them for the 30 years he owned them, just kept them in ziplock bags as he didn't believe in wearing watches.

He was selling everything to fund his new passion for World War 2 era Nazi collectables (to each his own I guess).

In case anyone's interested, this is the weird bracelet, it uses folding parts, two springs, a slide and a ratchet to achieve the same thing that a regular BoR's clip achieves, and it fails miserably. Sort of like how the Top Gear boys would make a clasp, ambitious, but rubbish.

In keeping with the rules set down by mike, this one was $500 including a rather odd and unique slide-opening style BoR bracelet that I've not seen another example of thus far in my travels... Interestingly that this slide opening bracelet's unusual design works fairly well. I guess I got a better one. :p
I believe the value is still under $1000

One of the few Omegas I'm still looking to pick up. The Chronostop 145.008 with rotating inner bezel. Just possible to find one for around $1000.

Used to have a two tone version of that bracelet with the slide - it was broken too.

It's a toss-up for me between these two stainless models. The 168.023 is a forum favorite:

This 14.703-1 is a real looker and a little more classy:

and these 168.015's are pretty friggin' nice too, but falling just behind the above pair.

Yours is missing the "button" , which is a projecting tab that sticks out of the Ω . You press the button and the clasp slides to different positions. Slide it all the way and then the clasp opens.

I fished this one out of the 'Bay in late 2010.

I think it was about $250, including shipping from Taiwan. Had it inspected by an Omega watchmaker at my local Boutique who said it was running dead on and was recently serviced.

It's a little bit on the small side, even for my puny wrists, but about average size for 1937.

    Take care all,

Keep them coming! I have an ideal of what I would put up as my choice but still wavering a bit...

How did I forget about the C-cases? You can still grab a Chronostop for under $1000 as Ash pointed out. I wear my 145.007 around the house often.

Dammit, this is tougher than I thought. ::confused2::

My two vintages...both under $1K. The SMD was my first and got it from Dennis - the wife says now it belongs to her!

I grabbed the second, a Connie from the bay, and it turned out to be a very decent example.

These were the Seller's pics but they really don't do justice to the watch...

Don'tcha hate it when that happens? Windy claimed a white waffle caliber 342 for a while, but now she's wavering about it. Might be hunting for a smaller model, possibly a lady's Cosmic, for her sometime soon.

All of my vintage Omegas that I own were bought for $1000 or less, but this one is special to me. I think it's a 2576, and it was the first vintage Omega I bought that was all original. I think I paid around $350 for it. It started my addiction! :)

These are also some of my favorites...

The challenge is what you paid under 1K, but what you have that is worth now under 1K
